I think you'd like it. There was humidity but it wasn't oppressive....and we got caught up in some end-season rains. Our guide said March (before spring break) is the best time to go. Weather is dry and there isn't a million screaming college kids around. The Eldertreks tour also went to a lot of non-touristic areas which was nice. New Year's has slowed me up a bit. I'm almost done with the photos and once those are up on flickr, I can put the tale online. It is written...just needs to be put onto the blog with the photos.

Well, the photos are done and up on flickr. Now, between x-rays, dentists and physio....I should be able to start the tale soon.

Chech: Some foreign foods just don't sit well with our North American digestive systems. It seems I have run into this many times so like you I find a McDonalds where I hope the food is more familiar. Never go to McDonalds at home though. Purvis

Oddly enough, I think it was the meal from McDonalds that did it. I wasn't sure the meat was cooked through. The place was really busy.

Chech: I'm sure a meal from McDonalds at Waterloo Station three years ago put me in bed for a day . Just this past Oct. a meal from "The Firehouse" restaurant just a short walk from Waterloo station made my son ill for half a day thus we missed a pre-paid tour of Parliament. One must be very careful not just of the water but what one eats on vacation. Purvis

That's why I take Dukoral. It'll protect against 70% of the reasons behind traveller's tummy. In 24 trips - about half to non-developed nations - I've only gotten sick this one time when I had taken it. Egypt will be a big test but since I've been there before (and got sick when I was there), I have some of their bugs running around in my system. I'll have to remember the name of that stuff people get in Egypt that helps again Tut's Tummy. Someone remember the name? Starts with an A. Here's more reading for the weekend.... Day Five is up.

You are fast. I see day 5 is up, and I haven’t even started reading the travel day yet. I guess I’m a little bit behind!

Yeah, this was an easy tale to write cause it was all about the activities which doesn't require a lot of description...just photos. Day Six is up.

I have treatement tomorrow, so I'm hoping to read some of it while I'm at the hospital. I should be able to get caught up then.

Chech: Loved your video of the zip line. One feels like you're doing the experience yourself. The rain doesn't seem to stop your tour group from experiencing all that was scheduled for your tour which proves that with proper rain gear you can keep on going regardless of the weather. Looking forward to the remainder of your tour tale. Purvis

It helped that the rain was warm. As long as we had our ponchos on, you didn't really notice the rain.

I only got to the end of day three yesterday, so I’m still behind. I’d love to be able to read your tale on the subway, however, there’s no internet access. I’ll have to see if I can download the tale onto my tablet as a PDF, so that I can read it without internet access.

I don't think it can be read offline. If you open up a page before you get out of internet range and leave it open, it could be read.

Chech: I think you lost me when you mentioned that the guide went before the group because snakes could be hiding in the leaves. That statement would send me to the nearest airport and out of Costa Rica. I am terrified of snakes. It really would take a special person to handle the terrain, weather and wild life to go on this tour. Seems you're one of those special people. I love reading your tale tours but simply could never imagine myself going on some of your tours. Purvis

I'm just catching up with your tale now Chech. Costa Rica looks interesting and so lush and with the wildlife I'd be interested in going one day. Looking forward to reading further on

LOL...the ironic thing is I've seen more snakes in Alberta than I did in Costa Rica. And yes, Bet, I can see why it's TT's number one seller. But their tour is very short and doesn't go off the beaten path like we did. Day Nine is up.

I booked Trafalgar’s Costa Rica tour in 2009, but had to cancel because there were not enough people booked on the tour. I ended up going to Mexico with a friend instead. I also found it hard to find a flight that corresponded with Trafalgar’s Costa Rica tour. At that time, all of the flights left Toronto on a Wednesday, but the tour was from a Saturday to a Saturday (unless you did the optional extension at the end of the tour). I just checked their website, and I noticed that Trafalgar now offers a few more Costa Rica tours than they did when I booked in 2009. I still want to get to Costa Rica some day, but I have a few Europe tours that I want to do first.
I’ve only gotten to the end of day three of your tour, but so far it sounds interesting. I can’t wait to read the rest.

Yeah, there wouldn't be an issue with flights anymore. AC flies there every day to both Liberia and San Jose. When I looked at CR a few years ago, they only flew into Liberia (which is close to the beaches) which meant getting a connector to San Jose. It was nice to go and leave from San Jose (and I just found out that flights there have been disrupted by a volcano).
