Enjoying your tale so far. On our Insight tour, 11 years ago, the museum in Odense was included in the tour but we did not find it very interesting. I had wanted a hot dog and I dont think the McDonalds was there then so my son had a souvlaki which I thought was pretty funny. We wanted Danish food. In Swedish currants are called vinbär, I don't know if it is the same in Danish or Norwegian and that might not have been the name in Viking times. I always wondered if there were currants growing in Vinland.

Yeah, I just used the museum's washroom. I had several hotdogs over the course of the tour. They are really good. The one in Odense put that sauce on it and I wanted to go back for another. At another spot, the bottle said hamburger sauce (it was white and flowed as freely as ketchup). The 7-11s in Oslo sold great hotdogs too. Okay...making myself hungry now.

When we were in Copenhagen we had a couple of those hot dogs too. There was a kiosk across the street from Tivoli, right before you get into the pedistrian shopping area.

Love that Shaking Spirits video. That was really an odd-shaped room. How big was the bathroom?

Could you hear the bangs? LOL The bathroom was actually quite roomy - a full 1/3 the size of the room...maybe even half. I was just looking at the Swiss tour I'm doing and I'm guessing I'll get some single rooms there too. The Single Supplement is fairly reasonable for 2 weeks in the expensive country...about $800.

I could hear the rattling bottles. The waters can be quite rough in that area. When I was very young we crossed from Gothenburg to England, it was supposed to take 1 day and 1 night, it ended up taking an extra day because of the seas. Many were seasick, but not my dad though. The English Channel can be quite rough too. When I went on the tour we were crossing from somewhere near where you left from to Gothenburg, much smaller boat, the weather and water were fine but about half way there, the motors suddenly died, there was a big jerk. Then in English they said it was nothing to worry about, in Swedish they said they had no idea what was wrong and hoped they could start again, quite worrying, but after about 15 min we were moving again.

I’m glad to hear that the travel director asked the people sitting in the front of the coach to get out through the door, so that it doesn’t take forever for the people in the back to get off the coach. I wish all tour directors would ask people to do this.
I just finished day 2, but so far, this sounds like a good tour. I may consider this tour for 2017.

I wish all tour directors would ask people to do this. Me too, one of my pet peeves...one doesn't one want to bring it up if the TD does not, but it's a little annoying.

Yeah...I like being able to take my time to look up a few extra facts and that by doing the tale after I come back. I'll do the same with Switzerland.

On my Portugal tour, the travel director sent us an email before the tour started, with an instruction memo. In the memo, it clearly stated if you were sitting in front of the toilet, you were to get off the coach through the front door, and if you were sitting behind the toilet, you were to get off the coach through the back door. Unfortunately, our travel director didn’t reiterate this during the tour, so no one followed the instructions. One man complained, because he was sitting at the back of the coach, and it took him forever to get off the coach, but even then the travel director didn’t say anything. At that point, a few of us kept reminding people of what it said in the memo, but that still didn’t work.

Yeah, you need a guide to reiterate it. With Amanda, she had an amazing sense of humour but when she was serious, you didn't cross her. She had a magic wand too...so no one was going to even try.

Awesome! You'll have a great time. I don't think you'll get Amanda, though...looks like you might get Cat. Any questions, ask away.

Thanks. Just got email and it will be Cat. Any mention of the change in hotel in Randers? No nothing about it. The package was printed March 18 and was at my place around May 29th. Will look online for their website. She is on the road and just introducing herself.
