Finally...free internet! The Copenhagen hotel had it free in the lobby but I never had time to go down with my netbook. We have a group of 52! Yes. Fifty-two. Only one seat free in the bus - the middle back seat. (And this tour was marked "full" so TT had no intentions on filling that seat). Only one other solo too...an Australian from Melbourne. Tomorrow...it's Norway! Watching the weather closely. The tour ahead of us had to change plans slightly (and for the better) as an avalanche closed the road at one point. Fredericksborg Palace hasn't changed much...except this time, the sun was shining!

Chech: That sounds like a full bus to me. How do your fellow travellers break down as to county of origin?. It looks like everyone probably will get to sit in the uncomfortable back seat. As one of 2 solos do you get seated together throughout the tour and if so I do hope you are compatible ?. Looking forward to your tale and pics. Purvis

Well, I'm glad I didn't promise one as I travelled. Simply no time. We have people from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia. My seatmate is very compatible. We're rotating window seat too. The back seats aren't uncomfortable...and they have a full window behind them for photos. The only downside to a full bus is when the scenery is on the other side. I'm in Stavanger now and we're heading to Bergen today where we get two nights but get there early enough to get a day and a half in the city. Our TD is beyond phenomenal. She even number coded the photo for us so we could identify everyone. Oh look....there's a rainbow growing over the city as I sit here....LOL

It certainly sounds like you are having a marvellous time, Chech. It's good news that both of you solos are compatible! I hope the weather holds nicely!

A gorgeous day in Bergen...which usually gets 320 days of rain a year.

And it was unexpectedly sunny yesterday for our fjord cruise. Rain today but looks to clear up for our full day in Geiranger. We've really lucked out with the weather.

The weather has been excellent! Up to now, the locals say it had been raining and only just cleared this past week. Great timing! I just woke to this view of Geiranger Fjord. The hotel has rooms facing the fjord and the others facing the village. They made sure we got the fjord view rooms (we paid a little extra for the rooms). Worth every penny. Not bad for a cell phone pic.

That was what our TD said in Bergen, that was their first sunny day in so many days when we went.

Yeah...a woman was posting pics from the tour ahead of us....didn't notice a speck of sunlight in the pics. And the forecast for Oslo and Stockholm is awesome.

Great photos Chech. I can’t wait to read about your tour when you get back! I’m glad you are having good weather and hope it keeps up. There’s nothing worse than having to sightsee in the rain, especially when it rains every day.

I'm glad I didn't try to keep up a tale. Absolutely no time. I'm still behind getting my photos sorted! We visited the Olympic park in Lillehammer yesterday. The ski jump site was also the site of the opening and closing ceremonies. And we got treated to some kids practicing on the plastic slopes.

Well I'm back...and should be able to start in on the tale in the next couple days. The sudden good weather caused a pollen explosion in Oslo and Stockholm...and my allergies are crazy....even while taking anti-histamine. Stockholm is a remarkable city! I'm more impressed with it now than I was 5 years ago. The blue skies might have something to do with that. This is an unexpected treat over the Royal Palace (the day before the royal wedding).

What?? You didn't get an invite to the wedding? Hope you will get better once you have rested up at home!

Yup...one day home to rain, fog and 6 degrees....didn't take long for the allergies to wane....sore throat and cough already gone.

Just viewed some of your photos on flickr. amazing! I especially liked the old boat/ship pictures. must have been fascinating to see it 'live'. And all that lovely blue skies. you really did get the good weather. Well done. Trust it will be as good in Switzerland.

Yeah, we really lucked out with the weather. So important on a 'scenic' tour. Now that the photos are up, I've started getting organized for the tale. Still fighting the jet lag...ugh! I have a harder time with 4 1/2 hours of jet lag than I do when I go a half day off like Asia.

Loved it, thanks Chech. I realize now I have never flown on a new airplane, all of them have had the "no smoking" sign. Will look for the new sign next time. 52! lots of tour mates...
