Hey, Jenno...have you ever had Red Rose tea? About to pour my morning Canadian Breakfast. Hi Jenno,
I was so happy to see this thread start up again.
I'm a coffee drinker.
I am back from my overseas trip and recovered from a bad bout of jetlag, and very much looking forward to contributing here.
Hello to all my old friends on this board.
Ex "Aussie Claire", now "missie"

Good to see you also, Missie. Hopefully, the jetlag won't last long. After all my years of overseas travel, the best I've ever achieved was to recover over two or three days.

I thought it might be an idea to revive the old Trafalgar thread which was the longest and most popular of all on that board.
I know Jenno is out there and I am sure that she will join in very shortly.
Sorry, Jenno, but I am not having a Dilmah I'm just sipping on my coffee.
I do recall enjoying a coffee with you when Leo and I visited in February this year - it was lovely sitting out on your patio.
So come on Jenno fans...let's stir her into action!

Well, back at work today after yesterday's Melbourne Cup public holiday. It's the only day of the year I bet on a horse race and I've been fairly successful over the years. Yesterday was another good year when I picked the winner, so I've been strutting about, pleased with the influx of cash. Unfortunately, I strutted about a little too much and this caught the attention of Mrs Oz. It would seem that the winnings will now be spent on taking her to dinner....

Remembrance Day, 2014
It is certainly looking to be a very nice day - sun is shining and the sky is blue!
What a contrast to yesterday when a front rolled in from the Indian Ocean bringing nasty little storm pockets. In a 20 minute space Perth Airport received over 600 lightning strikes! In the suburbs several people were hospitalised due to hits from the lightning - very dangerous.
Time for another cup of coffee!

Monday morning - 8.39am Western Standard Time - and the sun is really shining. We are forecast 28ºC today!
I am glad it is really warming as it has been a pretty miserable Spring for me with some pretty cool days and nights. I am taking a while to acclimatise to the cooler latitudes having lived and worked in Sub-tropical and Tropical climates for so many years.
But now it is the run down to the Festive Season, so it is time to pull out the card list and prepare the annual mailing and compose the update letter. This is one job I really enjoy as it brings back so many fond memories including catching up with members of the family, some of whom I have not seen face to face for years.
Time to get to it!
But first, another cup of coffee!

A bit more like my kind of weather today.
35ºC forecast - it was only 24º overnight!
It is overcast with the possibility of a storm which may include hail. The sandy soil here appreciates any amount of rain that it can get. The reticulation irrigation systems are now turned on for the season and the battle begins to keep everything alive. I will have to wipe the dust off my motorbike (even though it is stored under a full cover) as the weather is improving. A few long jaunts are in the offing.

Sitting down with my evening Red Rose tea. First weather statement issued today with possibility of snow for Thursday but I think it'll be too warm for snow for my half of the island. I won't notice...I'll be watching Thanksgiving football all day.

I just sat down for an afternoon coffee and to check my emails. I subscribe to our symphony orchestra newsletter and there was one from them whuch said I had won there latest competition! the last concert was named 'Opulence' and the adverising for it had a beautiful cat wearing a diamond necklace. No, I did not win the cat nor the necklace but a nice coffeetable photo book of cats! I rarely win anything so I am chuffed

we now know - our daughter just got a newsecondhand car -an import from Japan. she was trying out the various switches when she realised her bum was gettIng very hot! when she couldn't find which switch turned it off she swore. her 6 year old told her she shouldn't do that and (wait for it) talking like that is the reason adults do not get presents from Santa!!

LOL. I sat in a car once and after a while, I noticed myself getting warm. I looked at the driver and said the car must have heated seats....or I'm having a hot flash.

Jenno will be missing in action for a fortnight.
Presently she is in Hong Kong about to embark on a cruise to Singapore! I'm quite jealous - she will visit a lot of my old stamping ground.
.....and Chech is off in that direction also!
Ah well, roll on April!
