Are we going to see you in the Weather Channel? I'm looking forward to your tale, it will be interesting! Give us a hint which cities, states will you be visiting? (I have relatives/friends all over Tornado Alley)

We start in Denver and then go where ever there are storms. No itinery, no meals included. Hotels are whatever they can find at the end of the chase day (Super 8 etc) and meals are McDonalds and mom-n-pop diners. We could hit Nebraska, Dakotas and even go into Canada. Depending on the systems, we might even go into Kansas or as far south as Oklahoma and Texas. When I go again in August, we might hunt the Arizona monsoons before we head north to the sit under totality of the 21 Aug eclipse.

Nice! It must be a small group then? Luckily there are many "complexes" with several hotels next to each other or close enough to accommodate even a big group. My family/friends are in Wichita Falls, TX; Enid OK; St Louis Mo; Mattoon, Il; Colorado Springs, CO; Huntsville, AL; Virginia and Pennsylvania. so I hope you don't go near any of these places! I'll be thinking of you and watching the Weather Channel!

Chech: Mom & Pop Dinners and McD's are the type of places I like to eat in. As for accommodations I must say that I like 4-5 star but have stayed in much less over the years. Sounds like a very unusual type of tour but also very exciting. Purvis

Yeah...looks to be only two vans on this tour. Our van has six of us with the staff and we do the whole ten days. The other van splits the tour with a group of seven for 5 days each. Apparently, we can mix and match between the two vans. I'm looking forward to trying the mom-n-pop diners. I don't mind the hotels. These are clean and comfortable and apparently we get in at like 10 pm if we chase that day and can be up early and gone. And given that we could end a chase in the middle of Nebraska, they'll put us up in the best that is available. The start hotel at the Denver airport region looks nice. I spend two nights there and will figure out how to get down to Park Meadows Mall on my pre-day to check out LL Bean...and believe it or not...a real Wrangler Store! LOL

Chech, write a good tale please (well, same as you have us accustomed to read) my son in law is crazy about chasing storms, I have been in the car with him and my daughter and going out of the way and wait and wait for the storm to get closer, lots of heavy rain and hail, no tornadoes, thank you very much. Now sometimes we watched simultaneously the weather channel and text each other when the storms get closer where the grand kids live. A couple of weeks ago they were intense and close to them. Good luck, hope you see interesting things and the driver keeps you safe!

I definitely plan a good tale. It'll most likely be a different format since the itinerary is not set. Depending on how it runs from day to day, it might be one like the Arctic which went by landing with a general page on the usual day to day activities. Depends on what we intercept.

A week to go....and nope, Boop, I'm not packed. Well, what's to pack?....a few of the hundreds T-Shirts you have, a couple of jeans and rain gear and you are ready to go...if there is an easy tour to pack, this is it!

LOL...you got that right! I'm packing more camera gear than clothes. Even my tripod is coming along. I just dumped back in the same clothes I wore in Egypt. And I get a day of shopping in Denver.

Well, I walked into my hotel room last night and looked out the window to this. Nice way to start. I got an email too saying that we'll be starting two hours earlier tomorrow because there looks to be severe weather developing in eastern Nebraska. But today, it's shop till I drop. P.S. I can't believe that I forgot a toothbrush! LOL

I missed out on the Wyoming storms on Monday. The tour didn't start until Tuesday, but they sent out an email inviting any of us who were in town to go....but I was down at the mall...an hour away by train and couldn't make it back. They saw several tornadoes. Yesterday, we headed into Nebraska and met up with some great thunderstorms near York, Nebraska. Got a few nice shots including lightning. I love the colours!

Wichita is about 3 hours from KC. See if they can take you to Greensburg, KS. It is west of Wichita. The town was hit by an EF5 tornado ten years ago. They are rebuilding the town. www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8pDRogNJSE

Headed to central Kansas today. If you saw the lightning video on the Weather Channel this morning in Mulvane Kansas...we were right under that lightning.
Spectacular.
