Had family here for a few days from all corners of NZ. a nice get together but couldn't get my tale finished. This is the first part of our 3rd tour we did in 2012 and THE trip I wanted to do. Good thing I found this tour when I did as Globus has not offered it in subsequent years. So you can read Part 1 here

I’m looking forward to reading your tale when I’ve finished Chech’s tale. I’ve never done a Globus tour, and looking forward to reading about what it was like.

Sounds like a great tour so far, Solaira. I too really like Assisi when I was there. I only spend one day there though, and didn’t get to see much of it.

Well I've finished all now. The second and final part of our Umbria tour and the end of all our travel tales! We definitely need/want to travel again but won't plan anything until next year. Here is Umbria's Treasures Part 2 link

Your travel tales are really good. Lots of interesting detail. Know what you mean about plane trip but hope you getting a plan to go some place else. I'll look forward to next travel tale.

Future travel will be a while away. We don't have passports any more! Will organise them in the new year. Got a few health issues at the moment so I'm looking at something not so fast paced - a European river cruise ending in Amsterdam and then perhaps the train to Paris fir a few days so we can see the things we missed. Then of course we could hop across to London to see the many things we didn't have time to visit last time! Planning is fun and keeps me out of mischief

Good idea to wait until new year for passports as they will then be for ten years. I also fancy river cruise but they do seem to cost quite a bit for a couple of weeks and because plane trip is so long I always feel have to add on other travel and it ends up costing a heap. But planning is fun. One of the best parts of travelling.

Solaria, what did you think of your Globus tour overall? I'm heading to Scandinavia in 2017 and they have a tour that interests me but I haven't read any reviews of their tours, apart from yours. Maybe I should go and do some more "googling".

I thought Globus was on a par with Trafalgar - the only other tour group we went with. This was only a small tour in that we didn't do a lot of travelling, but the driver was good. How could he not be with the name of Fabio! Concetta was an excellent TD And the local guide we had was very good. So overall a very positive experience. I think on all tours its the people who can make or break it as the buses are similar, as to was the Hotel, which was the same as TT used in 2010.
