We've recently experienced both VIA (Canadian rail) and Amtrak and wish we had not waste our money on Amtrak. While our experience with VIA was great, we found Amtrak service to be clunky at best. It's slow, almost always late, sluggish, inefficient, rude, unprofessional, uncomfortable, and a waste of money. Amtrak has the same feel as US Postal Service. Both are subsided by American taxpayers. The only difference is the same bad attitude and corruption run on tracks with Amtrak.

The reason you found Canada's Via Rail very good is that Canadians are more accommodating the same can be said about Air Canada versus American airlines such as Delta, United and American. Have flown on all 3 of them and they're not to great. They always seem to overbook and the onboard service is lacking. If at all possible will fly Air Canada or West Jet. Purvis

Purvis By the way, Amtrax seems to have too much money in its pocket: it has a big propaganda division, whose mission is to cover up, deceive, downplay, and suppress all and any complaints from its customers. Congress should stop funding this extremely corrupt fat monster now!
