Really enjoyed tour tale. Brought back memories of when I went to Prague on tt tour. Empathise with plane trip. It takes so long. A negative of living in nz and so far away from Europe. But heaps of positives living here.look forward to your next travel tale.

I’m looking forward to reading this when I have a bit more time. I can’t wait to visit Prague. Everyone I know who’s been there says it’s their favourite city.

I have mixed feelings about Prague. We went so I could see my favourite composer's opera performed live - Dvorak's Rusalka. I loved the older architecture but there was also a lot of dour buildings from the USSR occupation and some of the people we met had a depressed attitude of an occupied nation. It could also have been the result of a very severe winter they had just came through. the driver that took us from the airport was very fed up with it all. But music, art and food all made up for our first impressions.
cheers

That's a great travel summary, Solaria. Prague is lucky not to have been badly damaged during WW2 so those old, medieval buildings and structures are pretty much unchanged over the centuries. I only saw Prague on a Trafalgar tour, but we did do a bit of wandering around by ourselves and enjoyed doing so. Of course, I spent ages interpreting the Orloj (astronomical clock) and Mrs Oz had to haul me away by the arm because I was lingering so long. Good to see you got so much out of Prague via a self tour.

I’m planning on going on the Highlights of Eastern Europe tour in Sept/Oct of 2016, and Prague is a stop on that tour. I know we won’t have a lot of time in Prague while on tour, but I’m looking forward to seeing some of the sights.
