Good morning, Australians! So, has anyone been to Vietnam? I see there are great dates available in January including the 3 day extension to see Angkor Wat in Cambodia. And it's a relatively inexpensive tour! I've only read 4 days into the itinerary and want to go! Any thoughts on Vietnam or this tour?

And it's a relatively inexpensive tour! I've only read 4 days into the itinerary and want to go! Any thoughts on Vietnam or this tour? It wasn't a very nice place last time I was there but things have changed over the years. It is a very popular destination from Australia and a lot of people do Mekong 'cruises' as well as coastal cruises - it is very cheap from here.
Cambodia, of course, is a different country and Angkor Wat will blow your mind - it appears to spread into infinity.
I must get back there again soon and take in Laos again. It would be very nice being a tourist. Quite a few of my mates have done motorcycle tours in Vietnam.

Yeah, a friend's daughter just did a self tour of the whole area and she loved it. My biggest hurdle is getting back in time to see the Superbowl. LOL It also has the possibility of a Singapore stopover. If I can get that, I can stop in Vancouver on my way home and get into the hotel in time for the second quarter. I think I'll go put the deposit on it and decide for sure when I get back. Deadline for full payment isn't until Dec 2nd.

Just applied for my Vietnam visa. It was simple, but confusing. Two different links to apply for different types of visas and in the end, I thought I applied for the wrong one. Called the embassy in Ottawa and he assured me the one I applied for was valid for tourist for one month. It's the loose leaf visa that I can staple into the passport as opposed to having to send it to Ottawa for a stamp. Oh me nerves. LOL
