This travel tale was written by Cassricho and relates to a Insight Vacations Tour.
It was originally posted on the Insight Vacations forum.
Have just completed 6 weeks touring with Insight vacations -
2 weeks doing UK & Ireland with Nigel (TD) and George (bus driver)
then 28 days with Vince (TD) and Ciro (bus driver)and a fantastic group of Aussie's, Canadian (2) and Filipino (family of 5) fellow travelers.
I could not tell you what my favourite place, country, or moment was...
there were so many of them like seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night;
Montserrat in Spain;
having a hotel room that looked over the Hairpin bend of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit;
sloshing around in ankle deep water through St Marks Square in Venice all the while getting soaked through because it's raining and the rain stopping 5 mins before we were to go on our Gondola ride and being serenaded by 3 musicians as we travel along some of the smaller canals;
walking in the footsteps of the Von Trapp family in Salzburg;
having dinner in the very same room that a young 6 yr old Mozart gave his first concerto for his Empress then having a performance of Mozart and Strauss music to enjoy;
playing in the snow on top of Mt Pilates;
the breathtaking scenery;
the food;
the sights;
the sounds;
the smells there are just too many to list here but by far and away the 3 best things about this particular trip were the people on it..
I have made some lovely new friends, our fantastic bus driver Ciro, an Italian driver of impeccable quality and great fun to have as a driver and finally our masterful tour director, Vince Tassone.
There is not a lot Vince didn't know as regards to history of the places we went to, things to see and do and he is a true miracle worker...
he pulled off many things that we didn't think would happen...
sun shinning after rain,calm waters for cruises, low tides for gondola rides, I could go on and on but I wont.Just remember whenever you do any vacation trip....
you are not at home, so everything will not be just as you like it, just as you are used to...
you are in another country, experience the customs, the food, the people and places and do it with a smile on your face,
try to complain as little as possible and
take home lots of souvenirs, photos and millions of happy memories... I know I have!!!
I will definitely be travelling with Insight Vacations again.
