Hi, just wondering if anyone is going on Trafalgar's European Delight tour from October 15- 29? I haven't heard from anyone yet and I was hoping to connect.

Hi Dana, Even on the old board, the chances of connecting with someone on a tour was pretty slim. I've found that I prefer not to connect with someone on my tour prior to arriving. It only takes a day to get to know many on the tour and within a couple days, you're like a big family. That day gives you a chance to feel the group out and decide who is a lot of fun and who is someone you'd rather not spend time with (chronic complainers for example). It can make a difference in the enjoyment of the tour.

On a tour a few years ago I managed to connect with a gentleman on the old Trafalgar site before the tour started and upon meeting him on the first day of the tour I wished I hadn't as he turned out to be one pain in the neck and never stopped complaining. Both my son and I stayed away from him as much as possible. As Chech said it is better to check out your travelling companions once the tour starts to see who you prefer to be around. Purvis

I totally agree with Chech and Purvis. It always puzzled me as to what advantage there was in seeking tour companions online - after an introduction and sharing the excitement about the impending tour, the dialogue soon fizzles out. Anybody seeking information about tours and destinations will get better information from those who have done the tour, or at least are experienced travellers.
I've 'met' three people on the Trafalgar forum before meeting them on the actual tour. All of them were really nice people who were good company on the tour itself. I would agree that usually, people on tours do tend to gravitate toward those whose company they like most, and that's only after they meet up for real.
