1 ~~~ The Reusable Coffee Cup I Rely on for Caffeine on the Go Even if it's just a journey around the block.
Back in March, I decided to finally end my expensive $5 coffee habit and start filling a reusable coffee cup with my own brew. The first morning I tried out my new routine started off great: I hopped on the subway with a Porter Mug filled with piping hot coffee—made in my newly-purchased French press—and by the time I reached the office it was still warm enough for me to sip on during my first meeting of the day. That meeting, however, never took place. Instead, we were told that due to New York City’s COVID-19 outbreak, we were to leave the office immediately and begin working from home until further notice. No more commute; no more morning walk from the subway with my coffee.
Holed up at home, my sleek little Porter Mug (with a minimalist design that would have looked perfect on my desk) was, unsurprisingly, returned to its shelf and left to collect dust, my self-improvement taking on other forms. I made a lot of stews, got back into running, and bought a bicycle. I also cried on the couch, called my parents a lot, and binge-watched all six seasons of The Sopranos for the third time. But as the weather has brightened, New York’s curve has flattened (for now, at least), and I’ve begun to venture outside again, I’ve realized that I can still inject a little bit of my old caffeine-infused life into my current, slower one. www.cntraveler.com/story/porter-reusable-coffee-cup-review ~ 28 July 2020 ~
