2 ~~~ State Travel Restrictions During COVID-19: A Complete Guide From Alaska and Hawaii to Florida and Maine, these are the states with travel restrictions.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues, travel restrictions are constantly emerging—and not just internationally. A decent number of state travel restrictions have come up, to help tame spiking numbers (in cases like Florida) and to preserve hard-fought decreasing infection numbers (as in New York). Some states have imposed a mandatory quarantine upon arrival; in other destinations, negative COVID-19 tests must be presented to enter.
Whether you're considering a short summer road trip, or looking to visit loved ones, we've rounded up every U.S. state with travel restrictions so you know how to prepare for crossing state borders. Of course, deciding whether to travel this summer is highly personal, and should take into account safety and other factors of personal risk, case count in your destination, and more. This guide is intended to answer just one of the many questions worth considering before hitting the road.
Read on for our complete guide to COVID state travel restrictions right now.

3 ~~~ State Department Lifts International "Do Not Travel" Warning ~~~ The CDC is still encouraging travelers to stay home.
The U.S. Department of State lifted its "Do Not Travel" advisory for all international travel on Thursday after nearly five months.
The advisory was put in place in March as cases of COVID-19 began to spread exponentially around the world. The bulletin originally placed all countries outside the U.S. under a Level 4: Do Not Travel warning—the highest level advisory—due to the risk of contracting COVID-19 while traveling abroad. The result was an essential ban on international travel for U.S. citizens.
Now that all-encompassing warning has been eased in favor of reverting back to the standard approach of ranking each country individually.
"With health and safety conditions improving in some countries and potentially deteriorating in others, the Department is returning to our previous system of country-specific levels of travel advice (with Levels from 1-4 depending on country-specific conditions)," the State Department's release stated. This method would help to give U.S. travelers "more detailed information about the current status in each country," according to the Department. www.cntraveler.com/story/state-department-lifts-international-do-not-travel-warning ~ 6 August 2020 ~

4 ~~~ Returning from overseas or out of state? The CDC removes its 14-day quarantine recommendation ~~~ Travelers returning from a trip outside the country or their state no longer face recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to self-quarantine for 14 days upon return.
The CDC updated its travel requirements online Friday, advising travelers to "follow state, territorial, tribal and local recommendations or requirements after travel."
