1 ~~~ Hotels ~ Favorites ~ Europe (General) ~~~ 758
Frankfurt an Main (FRA) ~ InterCityHotel ~ Opposite the Main Railway Station (Hbf ~ Haufbahnhof)
Exit the concourse via the Platform 24 Door. Hotel is minutes diagonally across the street.
Note: A busy 24/7 Central Frankfurt Police Station is part of the railway station complex (platform 24). The presence of the Police Station means a very quiet & safe street. The Hotel entrance and the Police Station entrance are opposite (give or take a taxi car length or two)
Excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast daily at 6am weekdays & 6:30am weekends. No lunch needed.
No shortage of "German Sausage" on sale inside on the railway station concourse.
Take some time to explore a large busy railway station. Not dull for long any time. Lots of comings & goings.
Always easy to get a taxi to Airport for early flights. Approx 15Euro and 15+minutes trip. Do not even think of trains, If you have not used them during your visit. Early morning with a plane to catch is not the time for wandering around a large unfamiliar railway station.

~~~~~ Pre Purchase European Rail Passes & City Passes in your home city or country. ~~~~~
Any self respecting travel agent should know of the agent in your city that deals with International Railway Passes. It is a specialised field and only requires one or two Travel Agents in any major city.
First time travellers should just visit your local travel agent and discuss your needs. Do Not Leave it to the last minute, allow a week or 10 days + for delivery. You may need to take along your valid passport. Any Passport within six months of expiring ~~~ Please renew now Please remember to take along a A4 page with accurate details & dates of what you want.
Lazy Larry (first time international or domestic traveller) should visit his local travel agent and have a chat. It may require a repeat visit.
My preference is to visit a Rail Pass Specialist located on the 5th Floor of a city office building. and Take along a A4 page with accurate details & dates of what you want. and I order by presenting the A4 page of my needs, pay by Visa Card, read a brochure while waiting and leave with my rail & city passes.
