Memorable Moments of various members ~~~ saved from the Trafalgar Forum ~~~ 390
Our tours are full of memorable moments. Some really good ones get lost among our Tour Tales.
So, what are some moments that are especially memorable to you?
What made you laugh or cry or scream in delight!
One:-
One of my favourite is the day I needed some money from an ATM in Saint Petersburg. The hotel staff told me there was one just outside the door, but this hotel was on a narrow block with two streets on either side of the lobby. I went out to the one on my left (her left) with a couple of others and we get to the machine and can't figure out where to put our card and couldn't see a keypad and all that.
After scratching our heads, we go back inside and tell our TD that we don't know how to use the ATM machine and we lead him out to it.
He looks at it and starts to laugh, telling us that it's a condom dispensing machine!
We slinked away with our faces hidden....lol

Well, almost everyone knows this one about our TT to Italy when I inadvertently locked my napping husband in the room in Assissi, and had to only key and disappeared with it. When the staff finally located me I was in the bar enjoying a vino with some of my travel mates while my poor husband, bless him, was contemplating climbing out of the window, and those of you who have stayed there know what a drop that was in the Hotel Giotto. We/he dined out out for a long time on that one. Warning, not every room at the Giotto has an extra key at the desk so be careful who you lock in--or out. laugh
Three:-
The most memorable hotel I've ever stayed at was the Hotel Giotto in Assisi, I absolutely, completely fell in love with that hotel.
It's tiny, quaint and I was up in what felt like the attic room with the most fantastic view.
My stay there was not only memorable, but magical.
I dream of going back and staying at the Giotto for at least two weeks....
I also love the Hotel Giotto in Assisi, fabulous.
Four:-
My memorable moment was sailing up the Nile on the Wonders of Ancient Egypt tour.
I was on a sun lounger with a glass of vino watching the banks of the Nile go by, with all of it's activity, children calling out, women doing their washing etc.
I had to pinch myself to believe I was really there, amazing.
Five:-
The last time my wife and I were in Italy, we both had to use the toilet. We entered and gave the "dragon lady" our money. She motioned for me to go to one stall and directed my wife to another stall door. When we both came out my wife stated she had the hole in the floor. Well my stall had a normal western toilet. We both only had to go number one, but my wife had the hardest time smiley.

Hmmm, out of all of my wonderful travel memories I think hearing the call to prayer while sailing on the Nile at dusk was one of the most magical moments I have experienced.

The funniest, was seeing my first fair dinkum "hole in the ground" toilet in Thailand but that's another story wink

I just had another memorable moment.
I just received a package with an astronomical clock, 2 fridge magnets from Amsterdam and TWO CATS....figurines!!
Awesome!!! It was like Christmas morning tearing off all that duct tape!

Some of my most memorable moments while on tour were
~ going on a balloon ride in Cappadocia, Turkey, going on a camel ride in the Sahara Desert in Morocco,
~ spending time at Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland,
~ seeing the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland,
~ going on a Gondola ride in Venice, Italy etc.
There are just too many to list, although these are on the top of my list of memorable moments. Just the other night I was looking at my photos from my Great Britain and Ireland tour, and I can’t believe how many places I had forgotten I’d seen, and I was only there 2 years ago. It’s a good thing I like to take pictures, as it’s a nice way to refresh my memory.
