I have just returned from a trip to Finland. My goal was to see the northern lights so I had to travel in the northern hemisphere winter ... not easy to travel from an Aussie summer to winter in northern Finland! There's photos of the trip on my blog. misswalker.travellerspoint.com/toc/

Loved your tale. Lights looked fantastic. Lovely to see especially as it's not somewhere I'm likely to go.

I enjoyed reading your tale, you were brave to go in winter. Your photos are spectacular. I have been lucky to see the aurora north of Montreal in the summer, it was not quite as spectacular. Also sometimes at night from my house I have seen faint flickering lights. My daughter went north to Yellowknife at Christmas to see the lights, they were able to keep warm in a tipi.

Loved reading about your adventure Jen and seeing the photos. I was in Finland last July, so enjoyed seeing your snow covered landscapes. I complain when the temps are in the single digits here in Canberra, so know that I couldn't cope with the minus temps.

Thank you for the lovely comments.
I also struggle with Canberra's low winter temperatures so you can imagine how much I felt the cold when it was -25C! Although I did find over the two weeks that the cold didn't worry quite so much. As much as I enjoyed my short visit I certainly couldn't live in a cold country like Finland.
