Hi just wondering if anyone has used or knows anyone who has used a scrubba wash bag? I've read a few good reviews but don't know if I want to spend $60 when I guess I can wash in the bath or sink Also a friend has offered the lend of a travel iron Do European hotels usually have one or should I take it? 26 days to go ! Happy Easter everyone

I never heard of the scrubba bag, interesting, re the iron, not sure which countries you'll be visiting, but lately I have found more and more hotels have iron/ironing boards, I haven't taken my iron for a few years; I decided most clothes do not need much iron and it doesn't matter much anyway. Of course I leave at home anything that will require extra care, found that if I take a pair or two of slacks professionally pressed before I leave, they stay in very good shape during the whole trip. Enjoy the trip and tell us about the scrubba bag. (After googling it, I think it's not necessary really for grown ups, I would have been great though when I traveled with children, they soil and change clothes everyday, sometimes twice a day!)

Hi Wen, I’ve never heard of a scrubba bag, so I can’t’ comment on that, but when I was in Portugal, only one of the hotels I stayed at had an iron and ironing board, and when I called the front desk to ask for one in the other hotels, they told me they don’t provide irons, but they do provide an ironing service. They want you to spend the money on the service so they don’t provide the iron in the room.
While on my Austria and Switzerland tour, a few hotels had them and a few didn’t. I had different clothes with me on that tour, as the weather was colder, so I didn’t need the iron as often.
