Following the decision by Trafalgar to close its online forum, all members are welcome here to pursue travel discussions. You'll find a few similarities and several differences with this forum. Enjoy!

Welcome to many friends as well as newcomers who have joined here. Your support for this forum and enthusiasm to stick together has been admirable and appreciated. And thanks to Owen who did so much to help index the travel tales on the Trafalgar forum for so many years, now joining and setting up similar structures for us to use here. It was a pleasant surprise to see this unfolding here today.

It was indeed a lot of work getting this set up properly, and whilst I won't bore anyone with the process navigating a steep learning curve, it's been fulfilling getting to this stage. I will need to commit some of my time to a few matters that took a backseat in the past week, as well as a few administrative background tasks on this forum that are necessary to enhance its functions and utility. I'll probably be popping in frequently, albeit in bursts if anyone's wondering why my input is a bit erratic. Thanks to everyone for their input so far.

Cool. It's working perfectly and now we can explore and post our tales and that. And I'm sure the admin stuff is in good hands....

It's been SO long since I've been here. When TT changed their whole format a few years ago, I had nothing but problems, I couldn't sign in half the time and for some reason my computer seemed to dislike it no it was SO SLOW. But I'm still in touch with some of the other members and when I heard about this new board, I jumped right on it! It looks so familiar and I'm looking forward to being back. I've been watching your snowy weather on the news.... Nothing like a good old Canadian winter!

Hi Shannon, and welcome. The old Trafalgar Forum format appealed to most members and we did indeed lose many participants when Trafalgar decided to suddenly change things without consulting them. Nothing seems to have changed in that regard. It was with that older format in mind that I thought this would be a suitable platform for us to continue travel discussions. I even changed the colours to make it look similar, although some of the cosmetic features may slightly change in time. I'm pleased that you've been able to return to join past friends in discussing our common passion for travel.

I've been watching your snowy weather on the news.... Nothing like a good old Canadian winter! Yes we have had loads of snow with lots of damaged trees since they still had the leaves on them. It is still cold and there is still some snow on the ground. Are you still in touch with Caitie from the old Trafalgar board? She used to love travelling to France.

It's so nice to see many of the old 'faces' here!
I had so much pleasure on the old Trafalgar site but it is being surpassed. This will ultimately be the BEST TRAVEL FORUM!
