1 ~~~Canada's Rocky Mountaineer Train is heading to Colorado & Utah ~~~ The luxury train line is bringing its signature service and glass-domed train cars to the American Southwest.
Canada’s famed glass-domed luxury rail operator has some good news for 2021: For the first time, Rocky Mountaineer is bringing its train journeys to the American Southwest for a standalone U.S. adventure.
For two days, passengers aboard the new ‘Rockies To The Red Rocks’ route will ride from Denver to Moab, Utah, with an overnight stay in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The train will voyage along the Colorado River, passing through steep rock canyons and breathtaking desert scenes along the way.
While this new route won’t be the first time Rocky Mountaineer has operated in the U.S., it is the first standalone route in the country, as well as its first time outside the Pacific Northwest. Rocky Mountaineer previously ran a route called Coastal Passage from 2014 to 2019, which included a one-day journey from Seattle to Vancouver that went on to connect to one of two longer Canadian routes.
For the past several years, the Canadian train operator has been searching for a new route that shares similar features with its routes in Western Canada, namely incredible scenery and iconic destinations. “This region, with its magnificent scenery, national parks, vast opportunities to explore, will delight millions,” says Peter Armstrong, founder of Rocky Mountaineer. www.cntraveler.com/story/canadas-rocky-mountaineer-train-is-heading-to-colorado-and-utah ~ 7 December 2020 ~
