Hello,
Trafalgars travel documents arrived and yes tip the TD, yes tip the driver, yes tip the local guide....
i have the shuttle service when I booked my tour and I assume it's not going to be a coach.
The name of the company is a Tristar chauffeur service. How much does someone tip the driver for the service prepaid? I will be picked up at London's Heathrow.
Any ideas?

Hi Patty,
Tipping is entirely a personal choice. Tip what you feel comfortable giving. I usually tip a few dollars for this type of service.

Hmmmm, I'm guessing that the issue here is whether the prepaid gratuities are included in the Tristar airport transfer. I suspect they aren't.
But keep in mind that this is London, not the USA. The British labour laws set living wage rates and this avoids the need for employees to be personally given tips. You would generally just round up any taxi fare to the nearest pound, but as this is a prepaid transfer, not a cab, no money needs to be paid at all. I might offer a couple of pounds.
I've never prepaid gratuities as I like to personally hand tips to the TD and coach driver and thank them for a great tour. And as I always take the train to and from Heathrow airport, tips simply don't enter the equation.

Hi Patty, I usually tip based on the service offered by the transfer. If it's just a drive and nothing more, I'll tip around $5 for any transfer over 40 minutes....$2 or $3 for anything shorter. In Peru, the transfer gave us a mini-tour en route to the hotel and there she gave us all kinds of information on what we could do with our free time and all that. It took over an hour to get to the hotel and she was a delight. I gave her $10. However, my transfer in Russia was a grumpy taxi driver who didn't even pick up my luggage, drove at excessive speed in very dangerous conditions (160 kph in pouring rain at 3 am). I gave him nothing. My hands were shaking too bad to take money out of my wallet anyway.

"However, my transfer in Russia was a grumpy taxi driver who didn't even pick up my luggage, drove at excessive speed in very dangerous conditions (160 kph in pouring rain at 3 am) "Ahem, Chech. You should always spend a few moments observing a taxi before getting in........
