Best of Spain & Portugal ~ May 2005 ~ Patrick C

Hi everyone ... I just returned from the "Best of Spain & Portugal" tour yesterday afternoon. The "Best of Spain & Portugal" must be one of the most reviewed tours by now. 

The hotels used on the tour were great ... much larger than other hotels I've been in on my past trips to Europe. 

As a single traveller, I was prepared for a twin bed and small hotel room ... it never happened. 

The smallest hotel room and bed I got was in Valencia which is inline with Marie's experience. 

The best hotel (in my opinion) was at Porto ... the experience of watching and listening to TV while taking a shower/bath was a unique one ... the wall separating the washroom from the hotel room was with glass.

I particular enjoyed Barcelona as I found myself amazed by the work of Antonio Gaudi. 

His masterpiece is the Temple de la Sagrada Família. and here is link to a virtual tour ~ Vista Visual

I found myself visiting it more than once. 

Some people don't like it because it deviates from traditional church architecture. 

Without question ... Antonio Gaudi was no "normal" architect. I also enjoyed seeing his work at Guell Park as well.

Costa del Sol got mixed review ... probably because there wasn't much to see and do except lie around on the beach or by the pool. 

Personally I found the relaxed itinerary at Costa del Sol most welcoming. 

I must say I got quite a tan while I was there as everyone on the tour and my family can attest to.
