Once I'm logged in, why do I have to type the Captcha response EVERY TIME I do a search? Does it have to do with my status as a "Junior Member"? How can I become a "Senior Member"?

Gary, the more you post then your status will eventually increase. Not sure why you are getting that message. I know I googled ProBoards once and called when I forgot this website address and they were able to research it based on my e-mail address and password. Why not ask them? They may be able to help.

Yes, many forums and websites will ask you to prove you are a "Human". It does occur to me on a regular basis across many websites e.g. online news websites The greater the time interval (weeks or a month+) between "Searches", You will be asked to "Prove you are human" on the first search. and then its okay for other Searches on this forum during the following hour(s).
If I come back in x weeks and do a Search, I expect to be asked to Prove ....
It only takes a couple of seconds to prove you are a human (and not a computer program) typing on a keyboard.

It sure can be annoying, Gary... ... You never can keep up with some of the weirdest ways that computers test whether we're human....

I wouldn't mind (too much) if I had to respond to the Captcha prompt the first time I do a search.
What galls me is when I have to do it EVERY time I do searches after I'm logged in.

I never have to do this when I login. Maybe it’s because I login through my email. I get notifications from the forum when people quote me, or when a thread I have participated in is updated, and when I want to login, I just open that email and click on that thread, and I’m in. Maybe you should try that.

I don't get notifications from the forum when a thread I have participated in is updated .

If you click on “profile” at the top of the page, and then click on “edit profile” and then “notifications”, you can decide what type of notifications you want via email. You will then start getting email notifications based on what you have selected, and you can access the board by clicking on the link inside the email.

I've made changes to some of the types of notifications. How do I save the changes?

I think once you’ve made the changes, they automatically save.
