I'm having all sorts of trouble getting that link to work but finally did and am enjoying the read very much. I had to try about 6 times before the link worked, so I have bookmarked the last day, so if I have trouble with the next episode, I can go to the bookmark and access from that.

I remade the link...how is it now? You can also click an earlier day and go to the table of contents or next day link at the bottom.

LOL....did the joke work? Writing it just didn't seem to convey the nuances of the way the guy at the end of the table said it.

"I really want to stop being a bit freaked by train stations" Oh Chech, I feel better now, a person as cool as you freaking out also, i though it was just me...(I took the same train but in reverse, Rome-Naples and then the circumvesuviana to Sorrento), Enjoying the tale, specially the Vatican Museums and the bits of history. Too bad St. Peters was closed for the day, hope you saw it later.

Yeah...isn't it funny how train stations can be so intimidating but airports are a breeze. Didn't get back to St. Peter's. I was in there 20 years ago, so it wasn't too big a deal.

I started to read your tale yesterday, and got up to Vesuvius Day. So far, it seems like you have gotten to see more of Sorrento, the Amalfi Coast, Capri and Pompeii than I did on my Trafalgar tour. I’m thinking that travelling with this new tour company was a good choice for you, and I may look into them for future trips to Europe.

Yeah, I really like how they operate but their number of trips is limited. I'm using them for South America next month but I think that's the last tour I would take with them except for India where they offer the Golden Triangle. So in total, four of their itineraries worked for me. Much of the rest of their Europe tours are very similar to TT's City Breaks - you spend time in a city and they arrange all that you need. One certainly could go from city to city as well. The Italy, Australia and South America itineraries are among their best as they work perfectly in these locations. A good travel agent can actually do the same thing with Travel Bound. You can choose everything - your hotel, transport, tours and even restaurants. With that, I could choose cheaper hotels and save a ton. (I don't need to stay in Hilton if a Holiday Inn is right next to it at half the cost). I might use her to arrange a Washington DC/New York City getaway.

Just read day 8 and know what you mean about having to wait because of people setting up tripods and the like to get their photos. When I was there in May 2012 I had to wait a good 60 seconds for the couple to finish their photo and move out of the way so I could a crowd free photo of Trevi Fountain! Thankfully when I continued on to the Spanish Steps there was not a soul in sight so didn't have to wait for someone to get out of the way! In the space of 10-15 minutes got perfect photos of the 2 attractions.
