Chech: I can't believe you haven't had a coke in all your days on this tour. I can do without a lot of things but must have my pepsi daily. Your pictures are great. Purvis

Tale is half written. The delay will be the photos. I shot in RAW this time si it'll take a few days to sort them out. I'm at the Rome airporr now...eating yet another ham n cheese sandwich...with a Coke. Had to have one.

I'm at the Rome airporr now...eating yet another ham n cheese sandwich...with a Coke. Had to have one. I shot in RAW a couple of years ago BUT I always download my photos to either my Macbook or iPad (depending on what I take with me on holiday) and the RAW pics were always converted to jpeg, when I downloaded them. Since then (as I don't do any post production work on the pics) I just take pics in jpeg.

I get both - RAW and a lower resolution .jpg (I get to choose). The Olympus format is .orf and I can see the two on the card and on my computer. I use Olympus software to view them. Some programs can't see the proprietary format and probably just convert it in order to view. I will convert the original .orf to a high resolution .jpg in order to put them on flickr. Most of the RAW will likely get deleted and only the decent shots will get kept in case I want to print or manipulate them. Now, I have to clear away some snow....my sister sent me this shot before I left Toronto. Boy, it was fun climbing over that in sneakers with a 40 lb suitcase.

Chech Welcome home to Canada snow and all. At least you have some photos of warm and sunny places in Italy to hold you over until things warm up in Newfoundland. Purvis

At least when we get late storms like this, we only do the bare minimum to get the car out...cause we know it'll be gone in a week. My snows come off in two weeks....so this better be it!

I'm working on getting my photos sorted and uploaded. Gonna start putting them up on flickr tomorrow, but for now, I have the one and only video I took up on flickr. It's the glass blowing demonstration on Murano. I had seen the same demonstration that morning in Venice and the result was better than this one, but it's still impressive. The video can be found here.

Well Chech, you have made me chuckle this morning. Surprised to see you up so early and on the BB. You have quite the devilish streak, although the cat may have the last laugh if it spills or breaks the fish bowel in it's pursuit of consuming the fish.

On my first trip to Italy, in 2007, I bought a decorative plate at the Glass Factory, and it still sits on my coffee table today. On my second trip, in 2009, I bought my mother a hand made necklace for Christmas, and she still has it. I really enjoyed the demonstration, and looking around at the products afterward.

I got my sister a necklace pendant on Murano - a colourful piece of glass about the size of a dime ringed in silver. Gave it to her this morning and it looks sooooo good. Should have picked up a couple more.

Finally working on the photos and should start putting up the tale this weekend with any luck. Got a new Surface Pro 4 and have it all set up as a replacement for my desktop...all hooked to my screen and keyboard with tons of external storage and now 1TB of Cloud storage...which will take care of storing my photos while traveling.

I can't wait to read this tale! I have an out of town guest until Thursday, but once she's gone, and I get everything back in order, I'm hoping to get started.

Chech, YOU ARE AN AMAZING writer, I am experiencing everything with you, CANNOT believe you were upgraded to Business Class!!! I had a good laugh when you said you added a few hundred steps!!!! Exactly the same happened to us the first time in Frankfurt, had only 45 min from (late) connecting flight from Rome arrival to getting to the Airbus back to SA, luggage left behind, we ran the whole time to get to the gate!
I just quickly had a look and cannot wait to read this in detail and thoroughly enjoy this trip. You have a real talent of putting into perfect words, all the moments of your journey, as if we were all touring with you!!
PS: 2 months till we leave for Greece and ITALY!!!!!!!!!!!
