Oh how I am missing that wonderful California living. It is 28 degrees and I am quite cold. Took a look outside and didn't see any sun. Michigan prides itself as a Winter Wonderland. I'm wondering if we are looking forward to a hard cold winter season with sub zero temperatures. Wishing Santa would bring some sunshine our way for Christmas.

Thanks for Californian. I can't tell you how much I miss Ventura and Santa Barbara. I was blessed to live in Ventura from 1982-1988. Hope you realize how blessed you are to be living in beautiful southern California. The ocean, mountains, islands and redwoods. How could you ask for anything more? Just, please for my sake. Don't take it for granted. Count yourself amoung the lucky. Looking forward to watching that beautiful Rose Parade again on the Television on January 1st. Felize Navidad!!

28 Fahrenheit is only -2 Celsius, which is not that cold. I guess if you’re not used to it though, it can be. The city where I grew up can get as cold as -50 Celsius in the winter (-58 Fahrenheit), so to me, -2 Celsius is a mild winter day.
The Weather Network predicted a warmer start to the winter in Southern Ontario, but it’s supposed to get cold at the end of January and in February. So far they’ve been accurate, as December has been much warmer than usual!

Tiffany, -50 sounds unfathomable!! I just got back from spending a few days at my nieces in Chicago. They got hit pretty bad with snow on Thanksgiving and had many plane cancellations at O'Hare. But today there is no snow to be seen.

Yes, -50 is cold, especially if it’s windy outside! I don’t think anyone can ever get used to -50 weather!
I don’t mind a little bit of snow, and, usually when it’s snowing, it means it’s milder outside. I’ll take the snow over the cold anyday!

plane2catch: -2C sounds downright warm. Come to Edmonton Alberta if you want to experience cold winter weather . This week the weather is somewhere in -20C when you wake up and in the -15 for a high for the day and that's normal. Can't wait for spring which usually arrives in late April. Purvis

I try to not go out when it is very cold, I like winter but prefer temps to be near the freezing point or -10C for a walk or skiing. Often we get snow when it is -20C or so or even colder, but it is light and fluffy. It is generally warmer in Calgary than Edmonton and we are lucky to often have chinooks, warm winds coming over the Rockies.

Freezing? We could sure do with a bit of that here. As I type, the temperature has hit 41C (106F)....

I’m not a big fan of the heat or humidity either, and I really can’t tell you if I’d prefer +41 or -41 temperatures. They both seem unreasonable to me! If only I could live somewhere where the weather is consistently +23 with no humidity. I’d be happy with that!
