Although I’m planning on going on a Caribbean cruise in Feb, it will be a little under a year before I go on my next tour, which seems like a long time to me. I’ve gotten used to going on two tours a year, so only going on one tour next year is a bit of a disappointment to me. I shouldn’t be complaining though. I still travel a lot more than most, and I will still be going on two trips next year, maybe three (my friend’s talking about a four day trip to Vegas next summer).
I’m looking forward to the 2015 countdown thread.

I'm happy to get the cat out of her care. She used to make it an effort for me....always saying stuff about how hard it is and stuff. It was stressful for me. If this works out, I can travel even more! You're leaving on the 6th for London? Will you be in Toronto that day? (I fly out of TO at 8:30 that morning).

I’m still not sure about Vegas as it will depend on finances. If my friend doesn’t come to Greece with me, and I have to pay the single supplement, I won't be able to go to Vegas. If she does come with me though, I'll be able to afford to go. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Vegas, and would rather go to New York, but my two friends really want to go to Vegas for their birthdays, so that’s where we’ll be going (If I can afford to go). It sounds like you’re a big fan of Vegas, although I’m not surprised considering how much you love to shop. I’ve heard that there are some great outlets malls in there, although I didn’t make it to any of them the one time I was there. Hopefully I’ll be able to check them out next summer, if I go. I hope you’re able to make it in November, February and next summer.

I was hooked, I don't gamble or drink but I do love the shops and the two malls right at the Strip. Believe it or not, in three trips I haven't made it to the outlets...I'm too busy prowling the Strip, it's just so exciting. For me, from Victoria, Vegas is a fast, easy getaway. I can fly return Alaska Air and stay three nights at the Paris for just $242 US, great sale on right now!!

I have an aunt who lives in Vancouver, and she goes to Vegas a few times a year, although she goes for the gambling, not the shopping. I don’t dislike Vegas, and really enjoyed the shows while I was there, but it’s not my favourite place. I don’t remember seeing any malls on the strip the last time I was there though. Are they new? I was there in 2001, so it was a long time ago.

I was there in 2001, so it was a long time ago. There is the Fashion Show Mall which is right across from Treasure Island and the Miracle Mile Mall (fairly new) right beside the Paris Hotel which is just terrific. I just booked November 24th's trip to Vegas for myself and daughter Skye and you won't believe this...airfare (Alaska Air) and Paris hotel for $292.13 Cdn.!! Pretty excited when I think of how much money that leaves us for shopping....

The landscape of the Strip has changed considerably in the last ten years. Boop will have a ball and the deal secured is very cheap.
Personally I think the Outlets are better value but there are some bargains to be found in town.

Well, is not official yet until I talk to my agent, but I think I am going to start my countdown 2015: About 268 sleeps...Inspired by a book about Patton (An American General on WWII) and the Battle of the Bulge I decided on the Best of Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg...so looking forward to see more of that part of Europe... Leaving Alaska and the Balkans still on the list Couldn't find any tale...ha anyone done this tour? I think maybe Purvis?

Hi Californian, I went on the Best of Holland tour a few years ago, and loved Holland. I’ve never been on the Best of Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg tour, but I know someone who has, and he really enjoyed it. I don’t think I’ve seen a tour tale for this tour though.

Hi Californian,
I will be leaving for this tour in 177 days. Should be able to do a tale prior to you leaving.

... I decided on the Best of Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg...so looking forward to see more of that part of Europe... My self-tour last June covers most of what Trafalgar takes you to, Californian. I have started to write my travel tale but won't post anything until I get more of it in writing. I hope to start posting instalments in a few weeks when it's got a better structure. Despite being a self-tour, it should hopefully be very useful to anyone who plans on going to these three countries as a guided tour.

Brussels is a wonderful city. If you can find the time do go to the art gallery which is one of the most interesting I have seen in all my tours of Europe. The city of Bruges is magical especially the trip down the canal which runs through the city. Hopefully Trafalgar is still offering the Kinderdijk optional which is a ride down a canal lined by 19 windmills. The cemetery where Patton is buried is well planned out and beautifully maintained but of course very sad. One of the nicest optional dinners I have had in my 14tours was in Trier Germany. All in all I fully recommend this tour as there is so much to see and enjoy. Purvis

Thank you Purvis and Oz-T, looking forward to read about your trip Oz,, I remember you mentioned on the TT board, now I hope you have the time. This tour also goes to Gent, probably a lunch stop, so I need to research how to get to the church where the famous Altarpiece is. Thanks for the tip Purvis, I was in Brussels briefly, one night stay, in 2002 and I was lucky to see the carpet of flowers, but not much else, same with Amsterdam, so I hope a longer stay gives me the change to visit Anne Frank's museum, Van Gogh's, etc. Haven't been able to book it, waiting for best airline prices. Not sure if this tour goes to Trier now.

I booked my Caribbean cruise for next February yesterday. I’ve never been on a cruise before, so I'm not sure what to expect, but I’m looking forward to getting away from the cold this winter. We booked a cruise that only has two days at sea, which means we will be able to get off the cruise and do something for most of the trip. Neither my friend and I are sit by the beach or pool for long type of people, so it will be nice to be able to go on a city or adventure tour, etc.

Californian,
I haven't seen the 2015 optional list as yet, but Trier is on the list for 2014.
Also on the 2014 list of Optionals is Hidden Amsterdam, which includes a visit to Ane Frank's house, as is Kinderdijk.

Wonderful! thank you LKD, I am very glad, Trafalgar not only left us without a board, also is not possible to see the tours in detail, like which tour is confirmed, optionals, etc. Enjoy the planning and research!

Californian, You can see which tours are confirmed and the optional list for those that have been released. The definite departures are listed with the pricing (which you have to click through to when you go to a tour page) and the optionals are at the very bottom of the main page for the tour. To see the itinerary in detail, just click the + next to the day.

Oh, I see, thanks Chech, I went to another site, I was checking the brochure on line first, still no optionals, though, but at least reading the reviews I learned that the Van Gogh museum is not included, not even an optional; now I know I have to go a day earlier, which I was trying to avoid to save money, oh well...still checking airlines prices, I hope the fares are lower in September.
