Not sure why Costco only has this deal with US clients, and only with Trafalgar and maybe some cruises, but not Insight. Many changes are coming next year, thou, Costco is cutting its ties with Amex, (or de other way around? and I have the feeling it might bring also changes to this policy. Take advantage of this policy while you can! Discounts seem to be becoming a thing of the past.

Take advantage of this policy while you can! Discounts seem to be becoming a thing of the past. Hi Tiffany, waiting for the new brochures, I am hoping prices will be lower due to the euro, might book two tours back to back, not sure how well my poor bones would tolerate that, but the flights are not easy on my back either... after that I think I will hide my bags in that "special" place in the garage where thing go to die...

Hi Tiffany I found Discount Coach Tours online and have used them three times. I am in Ontario and they give 10% on all companies (Trafalgar, Globus etc) They are in Ancaster and I phone or email. Documents are mailed by the provider.

Hi Poddlegirl, what is the name of the discount company? Is it Discount Coach Tours? I’ll check them out when I have a chance, although I’ve already booked Greece with my current travel agent, so it’s too late to use them this year.

I booked this tour recently in order to take advantage of Trafalgar’s promotion and pay the 2015 price. I’m going to try and pay in full by Jan 14 in order to ge4t the additional 10% off. Now I have two tours to look forward to, Greece, and Eastern Europe in 2016!

It's a great tour Tiffany, I am looking forward to do a Balkans tour with Insight next year. Regarding the prices, please check again when the new brochures come out, I am hoping that they will be lower for us in the States, I don't follow the ratio between the euro and Canadian dollar, but it might be lower as well.

Sorry I meant your Balkans tour Californian.
Tiffany, I was in Budapest earlier this year and stayed at the Sofitel, very nice hotel and centrally located.

Sorry, Tassie, the Insight tour is called Treasures of the Balkans. I think it has a very interesting itinerary, and other than Budapest and a little bit of Croatia, all would be new to me. (loved the pictures of Tasmania, what a beautiful place it is!)

Treasures of The Balkans was the tour I did in May! It was all new to me other than Budapest. I arrived a day early and had an extra day and a half in Bucharest. You will love this tour.
Glad you loved the pictures of Tasmania.

Lake Bled looks stunning.

The Treasures of the Balkans tour does look really interesting especially as it covers many new and emerging tourist destinations. It will be good to hear more about it, it's a tour I'd like to do in the near future.

I’m going to check out the Treasures of Balkan tour when I have a chance. It sounds like a good tour.
I’m really looking forward to the Eastern Europe tour, even though it’s over a year away! My friend and I are going to fly into London a few days early , and spend some time there before flying to Vienna a day early.
I’m looking forward to Greece too. Only 5 weeks away!

As of now, the 2016 preview price is the same as the 2015 price, but my travel agent thinks the price will go up based on how poorly the CA dollar is doing. If it does go down, Trafalgar will honour the lower price. Your Balkans tour sounds interesting. I hope you post a travel tale when you get back.

Glad you loved the pictures of Tasmania. Great to hear that Tassidevil, how was the weather in May? the first tour is a little less expensive and I was considering it, but I have not checked the weather patterns yet. I need to decide at least by December to get the discounts.

It can be really nice in the Balkans in the spring. I left Bosnia in mid April back in 94 and it was gorgeous short sleeve weather from mid-March onwards.

Chech, you certainly would know, and part of my desire to get to know a little more of that part of Eastern Europe was inspired by your experience there.

That was the one I did, the first one as it was a little cheaper. The weather wasn't too bad at all. In general we were able to wear shorts and t-shirts. We had rain in Budapest and the day we left Albania for Ohrid, they were also our only real cold days (coats needed). There was snow on the side of the road as we were driving through the mountains to Sarajevo.
Everywhere we went was stunning with the exception of Albania, there you had to look for the beauty through the piles of garbage that littered the sides of the road and pretty much everywhere else.

I checked out the Treasures of The Balkans tour on the Insight website yesterday, and have added it to my wish-list. There’s only seven Europe tours left on my wish-list, and then I’ll be moving on to tours of South America, however, as the tours I’m interested in going on are getting longer and more expensive, I’m only going to be able to go on one tour a year instead of two. It may be a few years before I go on this tour, but I’ll get there someday.

Yes, Tiffany, there are longer and more expensive, I was considering back to back tours to avoid the traveling part, but it would too long to be away, and even more expensive the time between tours...This would probably be my last tour to Europe.

The one good thing about booking back to back tours with Trafalgar is that you get an additional 5% off. I still work full time, and although I get five weeks vacation a year, my boss doesn’t like it when I take more than two weeks at a time. I’ll be taking three weeks off of work when I go on the Eastern Europe tour, because we are going to London for a few days beforehand, but he’s asked that I limit my three week vacations to every couple of years. When I do book the Treasures of The Balkans tour, I’m hoping to be able to add a day before and after the tour.
I’m sorry that this will be your last trip to Europe. Are you planning on travelling elsewhere after, or are you taking a break from travelling?

Well, I just thinking it will my last, perhaps I still could travel overseas a bit more, specially if I have someone going with me. I have a cruise to Alaska in my list, and I don't know what else, I'll be 75 next year, and I find that dealing with long flights, airports, etc is getting a little less fun. But...if my health holds, I am sure I'll be starting itching for more...LOL, river cruises are nice and less complicated, I think. Since 2001 I have gone to Europe every year, and before I traveled independently in South America, maybe is time to give it a rest ....Enjoy all you can, Tiffany!

It's a problem as I don't have the money to match it and have to save hard every time, but I'm grateful to have the opportunity to travel in the first place.

Keep traveling for as long as you can, even if it’s small trips close to home. One of the reasons I’m traveling overseas now is because I’m young and can handle the long flights. I figured I’d travel through Canada and the US when I get older and can’t handle the 8 to 12 hour flights anymore. My friend want on an Alaskan Cruise with her family a few years ago and loved it. She said it was the best cruise she’s ever been on.

My friends are back from Eastern Europe, and they had a great time. One of them said this tour is one of her top three tours, and she’s done many tours. I hope I’m able to go on this tour someday!
