LOL...they honk not to say "get out of the way" but to say "careful, I'm coming." There is a respect among the drivers and riders. No one is rushing to get ahead of anyone. They just want to get where they are going. It's impressive to watch...but I have to admit, that video caught it really well.

Well, Chech, I just finished watching Indochine, (thank you for mentioning it) I think you'd love it, it has lots of what you are seeing now, wonderful views of Vietnam, Ha Long Bay (the couple was lost for days in it) Saigon and a very potent story. Grab a box of cleaners and watch it after the super bowl. I think this movie won an Oscar for foreign films in '92 or so. Have another exciting day!

Wow, Days 3 and 4 were very interesting, Chech. I could almost taste the food. Good thing you didn't get injured by that Vietnamese hedgehog, although I can see why you were attracted to it. I assume they're this colour if they're paid up members of the communist party....

I am having withdraws...where is Chech!! (Chech you'll be happy to know that the entire eastern sea board is deep in snow, about 8000 flights have been canceled, but the Patriots are already in Arizona!) Hope all goes back to normal by the time of your return.

I'm here. I wasn't hospitalized due to my hedgehog encounter! And I haven't had a run in with a scooter yet. This is a busy tour. And for some reason, I'm having a hard time getting flickr to remain stable enough to get my pics up. Off to Siem Reap this morning and I think I'll take the night off. There's an optional sunset cruise on the lake there but the trip advisor reviews are not good. Though I have to take that with a grain of salt as the Mekong Delta reviews weren't good either, but TT didn't take us to the same spot. It was a totally different day and it was great!.

Great tour tale so far Chech! I, too, love caves, despite being slightly claustrophobic. Every time I read one of your tour tales, I add another tour to my list of places to go!

"This was built in 1601 when the ruling Lord of the region, Hoang, was told that a Lady in red was said to have appeared and said a lord was coming and would build a pagoda on the site. And he did just that." Yes Chech, but had he waited a little longer the outcome would have been better... Well, Day 5 was an enjoyable read... apart from the bit about the eunuchs .... ..... it's a little difficult to read travel tales when your eyes are watering....

I just finished your cyclo videos and it felt like I was riding in the same cyclo as you Chech but while we were riding along I noticed an awful lot of trash in the streets....do the locals just throw their trash anywhere or do they have bins on the streets which are ignored?? (What is the typical cost of a cyclo ride?)

Holy cow...do they ever pack a lot into two days in Siem Reap. First time I've been able to sit down. I'll have lots of time on my way to Singapore tomorrow and to Toronto on Sunday to type up where I left off. Here's a pic to tease what's coming up.

Well that's a relief. I had been thinking you were going to show us something entirely different... ... like the shower curtain in your hotel room.

Wooohooo! Survived 2 Malaysia Air flights. LOL Actually, I was impressed. I was in business class and had a great meal on the longer leg. In Singapore now and getting caught up on my photos. Once I get those uploaded, I can carry on with the tale.

Yeah, they are no different than any other airline. I got business class for $400 and got a lasagna dinner for the first flight that was delicious. Oh....Day Six is up.

Just read your latest tour tales. . Will spend tomorrow morning viewing your latest photos as it's getting late and there seems to be so many that I wouldn't have the proper time this nite to see them all. Many thanks for the time and expense you incurred to take me and the others along on your tour. The knowledge I have experienced with your photos and tour tales is very appreciated and I thank you so much. Looking forward to the next episode of your tour tales. Purvis
