1 ~~~ The Private London Car collection full of the rarest Custom and Bubble cars ~~~ youtu.be/23CDcgQYq8s ~ 27:15 ~ 7 December 2021 ~ The Late Brake Show ~ Jonny Smith visits an incredible private London car collection full of the rarest custom and bubble cars. By private we mean it is within the basement of a block of flats, and is only seen by owner (and serial automobilia collector Gary Hillman). From his ex-Jay Kay Ferrari FF and 1959 Cadillac Eldorado convertible daily drivers, to his hundreds of vintage pedal cars, Gary Hillman's Car Cave is like no other. Amazing to think that on an unassuming South London street pedestrians are walking past some of the world's most famous custom show cars, built by non other than George Barris. Barris was the creator of numerous wild customs throughout the 1950s to 1980s, including the Batmobile and the General Lee. Gary used to own 12 Barris custom one-offs, but now has 4; Alvin's Acorn, The Sidewinder, Sand Draggin and Pool Hustler. Amongst these dusty custom legends sits rows of 1950s bubble cars. Gary not only collects BMW, Messerschmitt, Trojan, Heinkel and many other quirky microcars, but he also part owns the Peel Engineering firm which remanufactures the world's smallest car - the Peel P50. And if you appreciate motorbike stunt riders, Gary owns one of Eddie Kidd's bikes and Evel Knievel's old Messerschmitt TR200 bubble cars. Weird but true. youtube.com/c/TheLateBrakeShowyoutube.com/c/TheLateBrakeShow/videos
