Had oncology appt this afternoon as follow up to CT scan I had on 16 November. Given the all clear! Another CT scan to be scheduled in 6 months time. Still feeling rather tired/weak as I experienced today trying to do some Xmas shopping at the mall. I lost a total of 22kgs from the start of the year, so hopefully I can put a bit on as I am feeling better (usually) when I eat. No travel for us next year so just a friends and family dinner in May for our 50th anniversary.

In addition to Covid, that's been a pretty rough year for you, Solaria. Great to hear the good news now regarding recovery etc! I hope 2021 brings a fresh restart and much fewer worries!

So glad to read that you have the all clear again and I can well imagine that you are feeling tired/weak. 22kgs is a huge amount of weight to lose. Hope you continue to put some weight on and improve, re the tiredness. Also congratulations on the 50th anniversary coming up. You and Eddie will beat my husband and me by 2 months. We were doing a trip in New Zealand to celebrate but that has been cancelled, so we will hopefully do it, when we are allowed to travel again. Take care Pauline

I haven't been on this site for a while so I have just read your response. Covid has put the kybosh on so may plans! Trust you will have a Good 50th celebration at home as we intend to. Local pub/diner in an old restored wooden church and its called The Good Union - very appropriate we decided 😉
Not gaining any weight but not losing more either so OK with that - only problem I have a number of clothes that I cannot wear now. Tops Ok if loose but I had to invest in some new jeans.
On top of my cancer issues I started getting low back ache. X ray has shown I have a degenerative spinal issue. No cure and will get worse as I age. I now have been on on a pain management programme. Also looking at acupuncture, and when the new pool complex is complete in town the Dr has recommended hydrotherapy. Can still walk OK but housework especially vacuuming I can't do. Now thats a problem I can live with 🤣.

She says that is certainly helping. Always nice to buy some new clothes, not that I do very often.

My back pain dud not improve as much as my Doctor hoped. He referred me to the orthopedic dept at the hospital and they arranged an MRI. Very painful lying still on my back for 40 minutes! They found that I have bone cancer, so I am starting another round of chemo end of the month. I am also now on stronger meds (morphine) that generally make me more comfortable but pain not completely gone. I'm not looking forward to the treatment but I do now know what to expect and the oncologist says my back pain should lessen. Fingers crossed. The outcome however is not that great. She told us with treatment I can expect 11 - 18 months. Some people live longer, some less. But we decided if the pain lessens I will have quality of life.
Travel for me with this and Covid is now off the agenda. I will have to live with the memories we've made. Was hoping I may have met some of you on future travels, but the people and places we have met have been amazing. I'm glad we started travelling when we did.
When some of you get back to travelling I will enjoy reading your tour tales.

When some of you get back to travelling I will enjoy reading your tour tales. I haven't visited here for a few weeks, so am only now seeing your latest post. So sorry to read about the latest cancer diagnosis. Hoping you prove them wrong re the timeline. I am trying to travel within Australia, now that I've had my second Covid vaccination. Have a short tour booked to Western Australia in mid September but at the moment the WA govt are allowing ACT residents in but they have to quarantine for 14 days. We don't have any cases of Covid-19 here and haven't have for ages BUT things can change at the drop of a hat at the moment. The tour is only 7 seven days, so if the quarantine rule still applies when it's time to make the payment, I might be cancelling instead. All the best and I hope the new treatment gives you the pain relief that you are hoping for.

Sorry to learn of that news, Solaria; I've been away for most of the past couple of months and now belatedly trying to catch up on things. I do hope that they are able to administer whatever is needed to deal with the pain so you're more comfortable - and that the therapy has a positive and effective outcome.
