I have two full days available in Fiji and the second day there is my 50th birthday so hopefully I can find something fun for both days. Here are the choices in no particular order:
1 - Captain Cook Dinner Cruise Approximate value: 147 FJD per person
Duration: 3 hours
Cruise into a Pacific Island sunset while you enjoy a delicious barbeque dinner. Fijian cultural entertainment and spectacular scenery round-off a perfect evening on the water.
2 - Navua River Village Approximate value: 214 FJD per person
Duration: 10 hours 30 minutes
This tour commences with 2 hour drive past beautiful coastland, farms & villages. At Navua Jetty disembark and board the long boat for an exhilarating cruise up the beautiful Navua River, past villages, farm lands, pristine tropical rainforest, deep gorges/canyons, meandering rapids and numerous cascading waterfalls. Upon arrival, be escorted by a Fijian Warrior to the village meeting house to experience a traditional welcoming ceremony, age-old customs and traditions, a war dance performance and savor a tropical Fijian lunch.
3 - Sigatoka River Safari Approximate value: 330 FJD per person
Duration: 8 hours
Your tour begins with a 1 hour drive past sugar cane fields, pine forests, beautiful coastland, farms & villages on your way to the Sigatoka River Safari. Upon arrival, climb aboard a custom-built jet boat vessel and enjoy the scenery as you head up the beautiful green river. During your travel you will hear about the history of the region, including its cannibal past! Children from the many villages that line the river wave as you speed past on water that is so clear you will be able to see fish and rocks lining the river bottom. Visit a local village and take part in a traditional Kava Ceremony. Enjoy a traditional Fijian lunch before touring the village and learning about Fijian farming techniques. You may also have time for a refreshing dip in the river before witnessing a traditional Fijian farewell.
4 - South Sea Island Full Day Cruise Approximate value: 186 FJD per person
Duration: 9 hours 15 minutes
The only way you can beat a half day excursion to South Sea Island, the closest day trip island, is with a full day excursion. Just 30 minutes from Denarau aboard a high speed catamaran, this uninhabited island is surrounded by crystal clear waters and magnificent coral reefs. With so much to do, the hardest part is choosing what to do first! There is a salt water swimming pool and non-motorized water sports equipment available free of charge, including windsurfing and sailing. Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkeling or if you want to stay dry, jump on-board the semi-submersible coral viewer. Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday. A delicious BBQ and salad buffet lunch is included; plus there is unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks while on the island.
