I use my credit card for everything as I’m a point collector, however, I’m very disciplined and pay it in full every month, so this works for me. I’ve only paid interest on my credit card once, and that was because I accidently paid it one day late! I know that not everyone is a disciplined as I am though, so a credit card can be dangerous for some people. Same as me, Tiffany. I once paid 18 cents interest and even then it wasn't my fault (a business accidentally charged me twice for something and the second charge came through whilst I was in the USA, thereby leaving a small unpaid balance that forfeited my interest-free period). I learned from that and got the bank to automatically transfer funds each month from my savings account to the credit card account - so even when I'm travelling the world, the banking arrangements happen in the background for me. Banks don't like people like me. Banks and credit companies don’t like me either. I once applied for a store credit card just to get 25% off, with the plan of cutting it once I received it, but after doing a credit check, they refused to give me one. I asked them why because I had great credit, and they actually told me it was because I paid my credit cards on time, and they couldn’t make any money off of me. Oh well. At least I still got the 25% off just for applying.

Ohh...I'd love to hear all about it. If I do the AAT Kings version of Australia, I get four days in Alice Springs/Ayers Rock area. Looks like they visit a lot of natural formations over this time.

They certainly would visit all the canyons, chasms and gorges on the AAT Kings excursion. We will be driving ourselves around, but with limited time. For that reason, the two main destinations will be the Rock and The Olgas.
I'll prepare a mini Travel Tale to give you a summary of what's there.

Cool. Booked the Malaysia Air flight today. Spent a bit more to get business class. Funny part was that at first it wouldn't accept my visa card and we were looking at the page wondering what we left out when my cell phone rang. Here was visa asking if I was trying to make a reservation with Malaysia Air. I said yup and he said just give it a minute and try again. Pretty cool. Only 8 weeks to go.

This will yet again test your endurance with working out the time zones, Chech. Like China, you might arrive in Vietnam on the day before you left Canada, having breakfast when you think you should be having dinner, and arriving in Singapore to find they drive on the left of the road. As if it wasn't enough to go to New Zealand and see the sun in the northern sky.....

Heh! The funny part is that the Superbowl starts at 6:30 pm EST on 1 Feb. So, I leave Hong Kong at 4 pm on 1 Feb and still expect to walk into my hotel room in Toronto just as it starts.

At that rate, maybe you can see who won the game before it starts?

I am booked on the Trafalgar Britannia tour for May 27th. I have made about 8 Trafalgar tours - two this year, Highlights of Germany and Treasures of France.

Hi Carl! Have you checked out the Travel Tales? I see there's a couple there on the Britannia and others on UK tours. Might get some hints, tips and laughs out of them.

I think a Countdown 2015 thread should be started. I'm hoping to be able to go somewhere (?) in 2015. Options - West Canada and Alaska cruise , or a european cruise ending in Amsterdam then some more time in England. Fingers crossed!

I agree Solaria. I think it’s time to start a 2015 thread. I know that I’m already planning my 2015 travels, and have already booked a cruise for February.

Lucky you! I would love to be able to go every year, but too expensive. Hopefully will get to Disneyworld and the Asian Disneyland's one day.

I’ve never been to Disney World, but would like to go someday. My step-sister’s family is going there for Christmas this year, and I wish I could do with them! I’m sure my nieces will have a great time.

I was hoping to go there this year, but as I was visiting San Francisco it made more sense (time and money wise) to stay on the west coast rather than fly over to Florida. Just means I have to go back! When is the best time to visit Orlando?

When to visit Orlando depends on how much you like heat. I went in October of 2002 and it was perfect low 20s - hot without being oppressive. The locals said it was cold. So, fall or spring are great. Winters can get cold (freezing or near freezing on some days....like the day the Challenger took off) and in the spring, don't go during spring break or easter break.

Thanks Chech. The crowds aren't too bad at those times of year? It would be a couple of years before I can get back to USA, but doesn't hurt to start planning!

Well, I've just returned from a visit of Uluru/Ayers Rock and didn't get eaten by a dingo. I'm in the midst of writing a travel tale in between a thousand other things, so hopefully I will get it posted soon.
