Looking forward to reading about the Yucatan, Chech. I am eager to learn whether the word 'cat' in the name is a coincidence or not... (is there also a Yudogan for canine lovers?) Don't party too much in Cancun or we might not understand any garbled typing for the next day or two...

Have fun Chech. I’m looking forward to reading your tale once I’ve finished Oz’s tale. I hope it’s not too hot for you! It’s -12 Celsius here this morning, so I wouldn’t mind a little bit if heat right now!

Hi Chech,
Was there a meal provided in Merida or an optional the evening of Day 2? Or just open time that evening?

Wow! Will have to get use to your new format but I am surprised that you haven't thought of doing it this way 5 tours ago.

We got lunches on both days and the dinner on the second night (it wasn't an optional. It was included). The evening we arrived it was dinner on your own and plenty of restaurants around. Including McDonalds.

Both, really! Good thing you put the daily link here or I'd might forget to go to your blog.
Also, good that you're taking less notes because it means you'll be taking more photos and videos!

I finally got started on your tale, though I only got half way through day 2 and had to stop. I have to get to work! I’ve been to Mexico three times, two times I was at an all-inclusive, so I’m looking forward to reading your tour tale to see how a tour differs. I know you will see a lot more than I did, but I did see a lot on the excursions I took. I may consider a tour of this region some day.

Yeah...what a difference between Cancun and the rest of the Yucatan. Best part is the hotels were close to the archeological sites so we got in first thing in the morning then travelled or did lunch during the hottest hours. The humidity is just starting to get bad. Coming here in January/February would probably be quite comfortable. I'm taking my time getting the next days up. Gotta make sure I get the information in the right parts. Day 3 will definitely be up tomorrow.

I've been to Cancun in March and went to Chichen Itza and found the weather to be what you describe.
Did you stay at the Mayaland hotel? I've not stayed there, but have been on the grounds for refreshments.

Yup, we stayed at Mayaland. Great hotel. Wait till you hear the story about the painting in my neighbour's room. LOL The site was a short walk for us and we went in at 8 am. By the time we were done at 10:30, we were all shaking our head as to how the Cancun visitors could handle the heat as they all started arriving as we left. Nothing like getting a shot of El Castillo with no one in the shot.

Out of the loop for a bit there. Very busy in Riviera Maya and the internet connection at the resort was crap. In the airport heading home to snow now...oh...the coooool snow.
