Yeah...I was thinking about that as I drove away. I go back Thursday and I'll ask about MMR booster. I actually think I had the mumps in 1976. I should ask my brothers about that now that I think of it.

Yeah. It's part of the Highlights of Austria, Slovenia and Croatia travel tale. Thought those pics looked familiar. I read your tale before, but I'm going to read it again! Thanks

I started packing on the weekend, and, as usual, I’ve over-packed! I have a little over a week to take things out, so I’ll be fine by the time I leave. ... I'd offer to do some ruthless downsizing for you, Tiffany. But could you manage with just 15 pound luggage (including the case)?

I like to have options, and couldn't travel for over two weeks with just a carry-on. Besides, I always keep my suitecase under the weight limit, so it's not that bad.

I met with someone who just got back from Greece last Tuesday, and she said it was a great trip, and she felt comfortable and safe the whole time she was there. She went to Athens and the Islands, and she said that most of the people on the islands spoke English and most of the shops/restaurants took credit cards. She did advise that not all of the restaurants in Athens took credit cards, and to ask ahead of time as they don’t tell you until they bring the bill. I was glad to hear that she had such a great trip, and that she felt safe while she was there. Less than two weeks to go before I leave. So far the weather is looking good, although a little on the hot side for my taste. I was hoping it would be in the low 20’s while I was there, not the high 20’s. As long as it’s not too humid, I should be fine.

My last few days in Greece were at the end of September and the weather was just beautiful. One thing to remember is that if it rains, some of the sidewalks are made of marble and when they're wet, they're like ice. We had to walk on the street to stay upright.

They are not calling for rain in Greece yet, but they are now calling for rain in London. Hopefully that will change before we go. Only a week and a day before we leave!

My friend and I are making plans for our free time in Greece. We are planning on going to The Church of St. George, and the Saint Isidori little church with the cave and shrine on Lycabettus Hill on our first day. We don’t meet the group until 7:30 p.m., and since we arrive at 3:00 a.m. that morning, we should have time to see some of the sites even with a sleep in.
We just booked a Viator tour for our last day. It’s called Best Hidden Athens Walking Tour and Picnic: Plaka and the Hills of Athens, and takes us around Plaka and the hills of Athens: Philopappou and Mars Hill, Anafiotika, Walk on Rock of Ares (Aereopagus) on Mars Hill and pass Socrates’ Prison and Philopappou Hill where we walk along the walkways of Philopappou and see Philopappos Monument. We booked the 5:30 p.m. tour, which gives us time to go to the beach for a swim on our last day (weather permitting). I’m looking forward to all of it!

There are quite a few of us going soon. Have a great time.
We are leaving our from home around noon on Thursday for our KLM flight to Amsterdam then on to Budapest. I was quite surprised when I checked the weather forecast this morning, it seems it will be fairly cool, which we like, 10-20C.
So Boop I am glad we hadn't packed yet, we will start tomorrow and adjust with layers for the cooler temperatures.

I'm getting very excited for you ML, mainly because we are doing almost duplicate tours 3 months apart. As well, we are both flying on KLM...I'm flying from Victoria to Vancouver to Prague, via Amsterdam and on the way home from Budapest to Vancouver to Nanaimo, via Amsterdam. Please let me know your thoughts on KLM, I've never flown business class with them before and instead of the fully flat beds KLM recline is 75 degree, which hopefully won't make too much of a difference. Glad to see you are starting to think about packing...lolol!!

I’m almost all packed, and just need to pack my last minute toiletries that I’m still using in the morning. As of now, I’m at 35.8pounds, which is less than expected given how much I’ve packed. It’s all light clothes, so that’s probably why. I’m sure after my toiletries are packed, I‘ll be closer to 40 pounds, which is still good. The weather is still looking good, although they are now calling for rain in Athens. That can still change though.

Glad to see you are starting to think about packing...lolol!! Well we are not travelling business class. I had wanted the upgrade seats with more legroom but they were sold out. I'll report back. I am not quite happy since there ar3,4,3 seat arrangement widthwise. I prefer the AC flights that are 2,4,2, but on our return from Rome via Frankfurt AC had 3,4,3. I don't like the middle seat. Somehow Insight had put us on tomorrows flight in an aisle seat and a window seat with a stranger in the middle. I changed that to seats a little further back. It seems that we will have rain for all 3 days in Budapest and that it will be cool but sunny in Vienna.

Wow...so a few of us are off in the next couple weeks...you, Tulips, Tiffany and me....anyone else? I paid a little extra for the preferred seats on my way down under...just under $300 for four preferred seats. Both my long flights are in bulkhead window seats with more than enough room to get in and out of the seat without needing to disturb the others. I'll sleep like a kitten.

I upgraded to preferred seating there and back and I’m glad I did, especially since I’m flying Rouge on my way back. I think it cost me an extra $90 for preferred seating going there, and an extra $200 coming back. I’m in Rouge Premium coming back, which is why it’s more expensive. I’m sure it will be worth the money.
Only today and tomorrow to get through, and then I’m off tomorrow evening!

You'll like Premium Rouge - business class in a regular or slightly oversized seat. Great for a daytime flight. And the weather is looking great. High teens and sun in London and the week looks sunny with the odd shower in Athens with temps in the low 20s. Humidex readings are only like two degrees above the temps, so it should be really comfy!

I just looked at a couple of sites and only Tuesday looks to have any amount of rain in Athens. The rest of the week looks fabulous. This is the European based site I used over there for Norway and Switzerland. It was very accurate. www.yr.no/place/Greece/Attica/Athens/long.html

The weather network (Canada) isn't too bad...bit delayed sometimes. The US one isn't that great for international destinations (weather.com).
