That's a great sight, Californian. I've seen photos of the square spectacularly adorned with flowers, although they weren't there when we visited.

Thank you Oz- almost zero chances of seeing this again, since is only during very few days every other year. Just happened to be at the right place at the right time. (August 14, 2002)

This is Liberty Memorial, the nation's only World War I memorial. It is in Kansas City, MO.
At the base is the War Museum which is now designated as national War Museum. It will host an exhibit from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra next spring.

Dawn on New Year's Eve. An experiment with a highly polished steel ball near the pool. It gives quite a good 'fish eye' effect.

This one has been planted at my daughter's house with the last of my wife's ashes - it was her favourite rose!
Very appropriately called "Moonglow" and this shot was taken on New Year's Day.

Tonnet, it's wonderful that your daughter used her mother's ashes to plant such a beautiful rose, what a nice way of always remember her. My condolences to both of you.

I am so looking forward to your tour tales and photos. My impression of Vietnam is huts and rice paddies. Of course these images are from photos of the war era. I never think of this country as modernized so hope to get an education from your experience. Purvis

Did not expect a picture like this, as Purvis says, we all are going to learn about Vietnam! (This picture is almost identical at one I took from the hotel in Zagreb, almost thought it was!) Have a good "eye opener" tour, Chech (and don't worry, the Broncos are not going to the superball, LOL) Be watching and thinking of you tomorrow, but my keyboard will be in mute mode...Keep the pictures coming please.

Wow..yeah, there are a lot of similarities. The colours are so much alike. Same yellows and reds. And full of trees. Yes...football mute mode enabled! LOL. Just seeing Manning get booted last week makes the playoffs worth it. Pats have done better and that's all that matters. Hehe. Now to see if I can go the next couple days without hearing a word on it.

(Wishful thinking, is still Saturday in the US and Canada) Chech, I can hear Robin Williams' voice in your post ! Californian, you won't be the only one. I'll be watching both games. Yeah, Go Hawks! Just because I don't like Aaron Rodgers. But I've liked Seahawks way back when they were in the same division with the Chiefs.
