We are travelling to USA in may/June. We will be in Las Vegas for a few days begging of June. At this time I would like to do an overnight stay at the Grand Canyon. I went years ago but would like to see sunrise and sunset. We live in New Zealand and my travel agent does not have any suppliers that do an overnight stay. There are plenty of one day trips but not what I want. Is anyone able to tell me of a tour that provides overnight tours leaving and returning to Las Vegas. I prefer not to fly. I'm a bit reluctant to pick anything random on line.
We looking forward to our trip. Stop off in San Fran and then Doing Trafalgar tastes and sounds of the south then going Washington, Boston and new York. To Las Vegas and come home from Los Angeles. My partner hoping to see a couple of baseball games.
Thanks for reading and any any help is much appreciated

G'day kiwigrandma, Yes, It has been done before. A couple of Aussies visiting Las Vegas for a conference. They made enquires about visiting the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas via one of the Day Bus tours. They left on the Friday morning and got off the bus at a hotel on the South Rim. and rejoined the day tour bus on the Sunday afternoon for the return trip. The tour bus company had no problems with the split trip. It does happen and it needs to be pre booked. Do Not Leave it till you get to Vegas. Get your travel agent to follow up with day bus tour operator(s) and about hotels on the South Rim that they stop at. Yes, It should be easy to arrange for one night or two. Bright Angel Lodge is one hotel on the South Rim and a great location for Sunset and Sunrise. Beware you may have to leave your luggage at your Las Vegas hotel and just take a overnight bag on the bus. Take a anorak and layers of clothing. Grand Canyon can be cold and windy etc at night and early morning. www.grandcanyonlodges.com/lodging/
